I've had a request from someone to join the Hockey Knitter's Knitalong. You know what? She can't. Nope I'm not being a controlling witch. Blogger won't let her.
Turns out that all new blogs and blog members can only be on the new Blogger software. So no one can join existing blogs that haven't switched over and all new blogs are going to automatically be on the new server.
The way I understand it, I could switch the blog over to the new server now (since I never log in at the main screen I've not seen the notice myself) but that would require that the admin and probably all the team members have a gmail address.
I went down the list of members and it seems like most of us don't have one so we won't be switching over until we have to. And probably at that point it will be during the off season so I'll just change blog hosting if we do this again next year.
So...if you have a Blogger blog or are a member on any Blogger blog, you might want to check into this farther to make sure I have my information right. Since my main blog isn't on Blogger I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to this. Perhaps I should have.

I've already switched to new blogger...if that's any help on your record keeping.
I've been resisting the switch, but I suppose it's inevitable. One of my other KALs has also switched over, and I hate that -- feel like I'm being held hostage.
But if I switch over will I still be able to access the blog? I don't have a gmail addy and I don't plan on getting one. I have about 7 email addresses as it is. I figure if they want to force me into it, I'll go elsewhere.
I wanted to join another kal and I had to switch over to the new blogger (google). In order to join the KAL I had to create a new "old" blogger account. Then accept the invitation of the KAL. Then I switched my new "old" blogger account to the new blogger (google) account. Whew, hope I didn't confuse anyone too much. so now all my blogs are in one place on the new google blogger.
I switched today because I used my *one* "ignore the new blogger and log in to your old blogger" pass the other day, and I couldn't log into my blog to post unless I changed over. I was so annoyed! But I don't have a gmail account, I just used my egular e-mail account. But, for what it's worth, you can post to an "old" blog from the new blogger, but you cannot post to a "new" blog if you have the old blogger. I hope that this clears up some confusion!
Aha! See! i knew i wasn't losing it when i couldn't join properly before. Any chance i could get a new invite and try again? You need a Chicago fan, ya know! ;)
